Class 8AV have baked some Valentine’s Biscuits ahead of the special day. This task involved some key learning objectives:
Basic food preparation skills, identifying the correct equipment and knowing which ingredients to use.
Each pupil had a recipe sheet to follow. They were expected to work through each step as independently as possible.
We used our kneading skills to help the biscuit mixture to bond together. This was then rolled out to create a smooth surface. The pupils used heart shape cutters to create the biscuits.
Each design had a small hole in the centre. Once these were baked we added in some crushed candy for an extra sweet taste. The Valentine’s biscuits were taken home as a gift for our families.
Our food tech lesson came to a close with a game of Five a Day bingo!
