The Year 14 students recently prepared a tasty Caribbean salad as part of their independence skills. One of the key aims was to identify and select the correct cooking equipment needed.
We worked through a recipe sheet. The first step was to wash the fruit and vegetables. We then carefully peeled the onions and sliced them using the onion chopper.
The mango and avocado were up next to be chopped up. The final touch was to squeeze some lime juice into our mixture.
Each class member was expected to tidy and wash up their own resources. We ended the session by having a tasty Caribbean salad that we could take home to share with our families.
