Year 10 Balancing and Jumping Skills in PE Lessons

Year 10 are working hard on improving their coordination and jumping skills during their current PE lessons. We have set up a short obstacle course in the school gym. This contained three different workstations.

The first activity involved the students running from one end of the gym to the other by following the mats placed on the floor. A similar workstation saw the students carefully running through the hoops that were placed on the floor. The final jumping activity involved some short hurdles to navigate.

The students were asked to think about how they need to vary their running routine to make the most of each workstation.

Some benches were then introduced to the obstacle course. The students were asked to walk along these and focus on their balancing skills. A controlled jump from the bench to a soft landing space followed.
