Emotions and Artwork for the Turney Year 7 Pupils

The Year 7 pupils are learning about different emotions as part of their PSHE learning. We usually start each lesson with some gentle stretching to help us to relax.

A feelings board showing different emotions is then shared. Each class member is asked to make a choice to explain how they are feeling at this particular moment. Some of the students are able to use verbal communication to elaborate their feelings.

One of our main activities based around this learning is to use art to help to describe our feelings. We have spoken about how red often represents anger. Green is a calmer colour.

Each class member has drawn a large face. We used scrunched up tissue paper to decorate the face in a suitable colour. This helped to explain our current mood. This was a great activity to help improve our fine motor skills.
