Ten Green Bottles Fun in Turney School Red Class

The Red Class children are working on their subtraction skills as part of their maths learning throughout the summer term. We are singing the song Ten Green Bottles to help with this learning.

Our main focus is singing the song with a cause and effect response. Ten Green Bottles are attached to the class whiteboard. Each time one of the bottles falls, a class number is asked to find thae correctly numbered bottle and gently drop it on the floor.

The bottles are filled with coloured beads. This helps to stimulate the sensory needs of the pupils.

Many other table activities have also been set up in Red Class. These also help to explore colour, sound and patterns.

The students have been posting the correct number on a bottle into a postbox. They’ve also matched up the number on a bottle with a correct number card.
